Ventilation Requirements
Bathrooms require adequate ventilation under the Building Code:
- Natural ventilation (openable window) OR
- Mechanical ventilation (exhaust fan)
Exhaust Fan Sizing
- Standard bathroom: 25 L/s minimum
- With separate toilet: Additional extraction
- Larger bathrooms: May need multiple fans
Installation Requirements
- Must vent outside (not into roof space)
- Ducted to roof or wall vent
- Licensed electrician required
