TPS (Twin and Earth)
- Most common residential cable
- Flat cable with active, neutral, earth
- Used for power and lighting circuits
Flexible Cable
- For appliance connections
- Can handle movement
- Not for permanent installation
Cable Sizes
- 1mm²: Lighting circuits
- 2.5mm²: Power points (most common)
- 4mm²: Heavy duty circuits
- 6mm²: Ovens, hot water
- 10mm²+: Air con, main feeds
Circuit Protection
- MCB (Miniature Circuit Breaker): Overcurrent protection
- RCD (Safety Switch): Earth leakage protection
- RCBO: Combined MCB and RCD
Color Codes
- Active: Red or brown
- Neutral: Black or blue
- Earth: Green/yellow
